2. MEET IN A PUBLIC PLACE |
| As tempting as a secret rendezvous in a motel may be, the first few visits should be in public places where you feel comfortable and secure. | |

3. KEEP YOUR INFO PRIVATE |
| We don't ask for your personal info when you join for your own security. Info such as your address, phone number, and even name should remain private until you feel completely comfortable. Besides, usernames are more fun! | |

4. TALK ON THE PHONE BEFORE YOUR MEET |
| Keyboards are great because you get to think before you type. The phone on the other hand, is a better indicator of a person's social skills and character. If you feel uncomfortable, be sure to get their number and call using your cell phone or use your local telephone blocking code to hide your identity. | |
| Look for inconsistent answers regarding a member's background, status, profession, etc.. This may indicate they are not who they say they are, or even worse, married! If a red flag goes off, its a good idea to bail. | |

6. TELL SOMEONE WHERE YOU ARE GOING |
| Let people know where and when you plan to meet with members. Or even better, bring a friend and ask the member you are speaking to do the same. Its great for your safety and it helps get rid of those nasty awkward quite moments. | |

7. BRING A PHONE ON YOUR DATE |
| Never do anything that makes you feel uncomfortable. If you ever feel that you are in a jam, use your best judgement to get out of it as quickly as possible. Excuse yourself, call a friend, ask a local person or police for assistance. | |
